What is Ghana Girls Connect, Inc.?
Ghana Girls Connect (GGC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young women of the diaspora to pursue their creative passions, foster financial independence, and build communities. Our mission is to inspire girls to take up space and thrive in unconventional careers and fields.
Do I have to be Ghanaian to be a part?
GGC is open to all young women, particularly those in the diaspora who are passionate about pursuing creative careers, entrepreneurship, and personal development. We offer various programs and initiatives for individuals and businesses looking to get involved.
Where is GGC based?
GGC was founded and is currently based in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, but our programs and impact extend globally, with initiatives in Ghana and other regions that have large African diaspora communities. We will be starting a chapter in a city near you soon!
How can I get involved with GGC's mentorship programs?
You can apply to be a mentor or mentee through our Mentorship Program page. Mentors can be located anywhere in the world and will work virtually with mentees to support their entrepreneurial and personal growth over six months.
How will my donation be used?
Your donation goes directly toward funding our various programs, such as the mentorship program, the Period Project, workshops, sustaining the organization’s day-to-day, and events aimed at empowering young women. We are committed to transparency, and you can learn more about how we allocate funds in our annual reports.
